I recently went through a tough moment. I felt sad and melancholy. I felt that way for a few days…
And I knew I was choosing to feel that way. It was appropriate for the situation (which I share in the podcast).
I also knew I choose a new feeling when I was ready and that I needed the time and space to build a bridge from sad to melancholy to content to love to happy. It’s a process and we need to honor each step.
There’s a mistaken belief that we have to choose happy all the time, that’s the only way to get what we want in life.
We are here to experience a full range of emotions. When we’re aware of our feelings and understand that we alone are the ones who choose them, then we have the power to choose new feelings, thoughts, and actions.
Knowing and understanding that it’s your choice is where all your power comes from.
